This overview demonstrates that platelet rich plasma is an effective intervention in treating knee osteoarthritis without increased risk of adverse events.

Xing D, et al. – This study presents an overview of overlapping systematic reviews investigating platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for knee osteoarthritis (OA), wherein, methodological quality and risk of bias of systematic reviews were assessed and recommendations were offered via the best evidence. As per the evidence, without increasing risk of adverse events, PRP afforded effective treatment of knee OA.
